We celebrated Hogmany 2006 at The National Piping Centre in Glasgow followed by the traditional party at Thomas and Kath's flat in Partick.
A good meal and a Celidh was enjoyed by all, in what was going to be our last Hogmany all together. It was Susan's first time meeting the guys and proved to be a baptism of fire between having to endure getting to know us all dobbers in one fell swoop, the first argument that I have ever experienced between my mates, and numerous texts from a psychotic ex-girlfriend!
None of this took the shine off of the fact that I was with the people that I love and care most about, and who love me...
Here's to a happy 2007. I know that it is going to be a better one than the disaster that 2006 was...

Madness
Almost three years ago to the day since I last saw them in concert, I was off to see Madness in concert at the SECC, courtesy of Susan who bought the tickets for us to go as a surprise for me.
Managed to meet my old mate (and author) Colin Galbraith, before the gig. The Big Man was taking his daughter to her first Madness gig and in a sign of the times, all of us would be in the seated area of the arena rather than standing at the front of the stage bouncing around like idiots!
Madness arrived on stage to the theme tune of Star Trek, much to my delight and opened, as usual with the immortal lines "Hey you, don't watch that, watch this..."
Fantastic!
Susan enjoyed the show and I think that even she was surprised at how good they were but when you have been playing gigs in the same band for about 30 years you know how to please your audience.
The patter from Suggs was hilarious as usual and the crowd laughed, danced and sang along to all the hits.
Can't wait for the next one!
